Exciting weekends coming up for Lucknowites this month

Lucknow is gearing up for two weekends of cultural immersion. The Metaphor Literary Festival, starting December 14, features filmmakers, actors, and authors, with Padma Shri Pt Hari Prasad Chaurasiya as chief guest. The following weekend, Repertwahr festival presents a mix of theatre, music, and comedy, with performances by Prateek Kuhad, Agnee, and prominent stand-up comedians.

Parteek Kuhad
The next two weekends are one of reckoning for Lucknowites with two festivals - a literature and a theatre, music and comedy one - lined up for them. The first is the Metaphor Literary Festival that kicks off on December 14. The two-day fest will have its regulars filmmaker Imtiaz Ali and actor Faisal Malik.This year the lineup also includes filmmakers Sudhir Mishra and Prakash Jha talking about the intricacies of their craft apart from actresses and writers Sadiya Siddiqui and Sandhya Mridul. The chief guest will be Padma Shri Pt Hari Prasad Chaurasiya. Among the authors the lit fest will have Anand Neelkanthan, Yatindra Mishra, Jerry Pinto, Koral Dasgupta, Vidya Bindu Singh, among others.

The next weekend, from December 19-21, is reserved for the much-awaited theatre, music and stand-up festival Repertwahr. In its 12th season and 15th year in Lucknow, the three-day festival will feature singers Prateek Kuhad, band Agnee, plays like Hind 1957 by Feroze Abbas Khan and Faezeh Jalali’s Runaway Brides featuring Junaid Khan. The fest will be host to stand-up acts by Gaurav Kapoor and Harsh Gujral and some serious conversations with the likes of Javed Akhtar and Priya Malik, among others.
